Nestled in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Sandy Bottom Trail Rides is a family owned and operated horse stable and trail guide service. Our stables are located in the middle of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, just 30 minutes north of Asheville. We offer horseback riding year round.

Our most popular ride is a 3 hour trail ride to the 200 year old Long Pine Gem Mine. We leave the stables and ride over the hilltops for approximately 1 1/2 hours to the Little Pine Garnet Mine, where we take a break, have a snack, and search for garnets, which we do find. We mount again and ride back enjoy all the scenic views along a trail that leads to the High Mountain trail. See Big Bell Mountain and Tennessee!

One, two, three, and four hour trail rides, all day rides, sunset rides, wagon trips, and buggy rides are also available. Reservations are preferred.

Group functions and activities can be arranged for church groups, family reunions, birthday parties, and weddings too!
