Johnnycake Flats, a bed and breakfast, is an unpretentious and delightful farmhouse, built in the early 1800’s as a stagecoach stop.

Here on the "flats", we offer each guest to the B&B a quiet escape from the hectic pace of metropolitan life.

A common room welcomes guests with its fireplace of handmade bricks, library and afternoon refreshments. A country breakfast served around an antique harvest table.

Centrally located in beautiful Roxbury, Vermont, we are convenient to all that Vermont has to offer including ski areas (Mad River Glen and Sugarbush), the Long Trail (hiking) , Norwich University and the best bicycle riding around.

We offer four beautifully decorated guest rooms. Our rooms are bright and sunny and have antique furnishings collected and restored by the owners. Enjoy fabulous views of our gardens and surrounding mountains and meadows.

Come unwind by feeding our sheep, wandering through lovely perennial gardens or playing a round of horseshoes. In all, there are 16 forested acres to explore including two frog ponds and a tree house! The surrounding mountains and valley offer opportunities for spectacular foliage and wildlife viewing. Sightings of moose, deer and great blue herons are not uncommon.

Guests are welcome to use innkeeper’s snowshoes, XC skis and bicycles. Croquet, horseshoes, sleds, day packs, coolers and maps are also available.
